Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Glitch Affecting Key Heroes
Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower frame rates (FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, when the game runs at 30 FPS. This issue, impacting a subset of heroes including Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom, is currently under active development for a fix.
Launched in early December 2025 to widespread acclaim (boasting an 80% approval rating on Steam from over 132,000 reviews), Marvel Rivals has faced some early balancing challenges. This latest 30 FPS damage glitch, however, has become a significant concern for the community. Reports indicate that attacks from affected heroes deal significantly less damage at lower frame rates compared to 60 or 120 FPS.
The problem, confirmed by a community manager on the official Discord server, appears linked to the game's client-side prediction system. This system, designed to minimize perceived lag, seems to be the root cause of the inconsistent damage calculations at lower FPS settings. Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned as exhibiting this issue, particularly noticeable against stationary targets.
While a precise fix date remains unannounced, the developers are actively working towards a solution. A significant improvement is anticipated with the launch of Season 1 on January 11th. Should the Season 1 update not fully resolve the issue, further patches are planned to address any remaining problems. The team's commitment to resolving this issue underscores their dedication to providing a balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience for all players, regardless of their hardware capabilities.
