Warzone Mobile Shuts Down: Call of Duty's Mobile Battle Ends

After a brief run of less than a year, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is set to conclude its journey. Activision has officially announced that the mobile adaptation of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content, and it has been removed from the App Store and Google Play Store as of May 18th. Real-money transactions have been halted, and those who missed the deadline to install the app will be unable to access it moving forward.

This abrupt closure marks the end of a much-anticipated mobile release that sought to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile gamers. While Activision takes pride in the game's fidelity to its PC and console counterparts, Warzone Mobile reportedly struggled to capture the same level of engagement from the mobile gaming community.

For players who have already installed the game, online access will remain available post-May 19th. Matchmaking and online gameplay will continue, though social features are being phased out, and there's no set date for when the servers will shut down entirely. The in-game store will still be accessible, but only for spending existing COD Points; no new purchases can be made.

As a gesture of goodwill, players with unused COD Points can transfer them to Call of Duty: Mobile. From now until August 15th, logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account will grant you double the value of your remaining Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with additional rewards.

For those who have yet to install or reinstall Warzone Mobile by May 19th, time is running out. Beyond this date, no refunds will be available, and the game will become inaccessible. This development underscores a sobering reality: even the most prominent franchises can face challenges sustaining long-term success on mobile platforms.
