Elden Ring Glitch Eases Item Sharing in Nightreign
Elden Ring Nightreign features some incredible gear drops. There may even be times when you wish to share this equipment with others, while still keeping it for yourself. Fortunately, a gear duplication glitch makes sharing this loot possible, at least as long as the exploit remains viable.
I initially learned about this through PC Gamer, who published a concise guide on how to perform the duplication. The process is remarkably straightforward: if two players attempt to pick up the same weapon simultaneously, they both successfully acquire it. This results in both the original item and a perfect duplicate. (Asking which is the original might cause some philosophical distress.)
Not only is the glitch simple, but it's also easily repeatable, and there's minimal risk in failure. If the pick-up timing is off, you can simply try again. The only real danger lies in the need to stand still while coordinating the drop and grab. In Nightreign, remaining stationary is rarely a good idea. The brief safe period between days or the secluded alabaster alcove before the final Nightlord confrontation are likely the best times to attempt this.
As PC Gamer pointed out, they weren't the first to discover this trick. Multiple YouTubers and Reddit users have also documented the easy duplication method. The secret is well and truly out regarding this particular exploit.
Whether FromSoftware will attempt to patch it remains uncertain. Its use case is somewhat niche. Without built-in voice chat to coordinate with random online players, it's not exactly practical to start dropping your best gear and hope everyone understands the plan.
Even for pre-organized teams using Discord or other chat methods, you'd need equipment that other characters actually desire. Elden Ring Nightreign is fairly generous with loot drops, in my experience, and each character build typically has unique weapon preferences. Unless your entire party is composed of three Ironeyes, that is.
The duplication glitch is excellent for characters who want to dual-wield specific weapons, like the Executor, but it's not an instant-win solution. However, for some fun experimentation or to help a teammate who missed out on powerful weapons by the final day, it's a useful trick to have in your arsenal.
