Ever since the Genetic Apex days of Pokemon TCG Pocket, Meltan and Melmetal, along with other Metal-type Pokémon, have faced challenges. They experienced a resurgence during Mythical Island, but the release of Dialga Ex could mark their competitive comeback.

Dialga Ex brings much-needed consistency to this deck. Its Metallic Turbo ability lets you attach two Metal Energy to your Benched Pokémon, speeding up your ramp to Melmetal. This deck also includes Mew Ex and Tauros as counters, both benefiting from Metallic Turbo. Mew Ex’s Genome Hacking and Tauros only require Colorless Energy, allowing you to build them up quickly while attacking with Dialga Ex.

While I personally favor Yanmega Ex in a Grass-type deck with Exeggutor Ex, it pairs exceptionally well with Dialga Ex, especially due to its Colorless Energy requirement. Yanmega Ex's Air Slash deals 120 damage, capable of one-shotting many competitors, although it requires discarding an Energy. Fortunately, Dialga Ex can quickly rebuild this.

Dialga Ex's versatility with Metallic Turbo makes it a fantastic addition to any Colorless deck. While Yanmega Ex might be its best partner, experimenting with other strong Colorless decks like Pidgeot or Pidgeot Ex could yield impressive results.
