Author : George May 19,2025

Nintendo has officially confirmed that the mysterious new button on the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con is indeed the C button, dispelling any prior rumors and speculation. This revelation came through the newly announced Nintendo Today! app, which features an image on its App Store and Google Play store listings that clearly shows the C on the button.

The new C button was initially unveiled alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, but at that time, images did not display any letter on the button. However, consistent with earlier reports, it has been confirmed as the C button.

There is a buzz of speculation surrounding the purpose of the C button. Some enthusiasts believe it could facilitate wireless casting of the Switch 2 to a TV or enable screen sharing features. Others speculate it might switch the Joy-Con's functionality, such as converting it into a mouse mode. There's also talk that it might enhance group or voice chat capabilities.
