Josef Fares Reveals Key Details About Split Fiction in Recent Interview

Josef Fares, the visionary behind Hazelight Studios, recently shed light on their upcoming title, Split Fiction, during an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares underscored Hazelight's unwavering commitment to a philosophy free from live-service models and microtransactions. The studio firmly intends to remain independent, rejecting both going public and being acquired by a larger entity. He stated emphatically, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares revealed that Split Fiction's core narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, mirroring the playtime of its acclaimed predecessor, It Takes Two. However, with optional missions and supplementary content included, players can anticipate a total playtime stretching to 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight's expertise lies predominantly in cooperative gameplay, Fares hinted at the potential for venturing into single-player experiences in the future. He also revealed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has deliberately chosen to forgo post-launch DLC, ensuring all features are available from the game's launch. Split Fiction is set for a global release on March 6th, arriving on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
