New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Exciting new images and details have emerged for the much-anticipated Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris, with construction set to begin in Fall 2025. As outlined by the Disney Parks Blog, this first-ever land and attraction themed to The Lion King will be a major highlight of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. The new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic, complemented by a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.

Disney has released a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one element of an adventure that includes a thrilling 52-foot drop, which is slightly taller than the drop on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

While the exact opening date for the Lion King ride remains undisclosed, it is scheduled to follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This ride is a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand to double the size of the current park.

In addition to World of Frozen and The Lion King ride, the park will feature the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel. Another first-time attraction inspired by Up will offer guests a "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's scenic landscapes.

On May 15, 2025, the World Premiere will debut as the new entrance to Disney Adventure World, designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, the World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London's West End, will host a variety of theatrical performances including TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
