Yakuza / Like a Dragon is marking its 20th anniversary this year, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is inviting fans to decide on the upcoming official merchandise. The choices range from conventional items like a 20th anniversary celebration hoodie and a Yakuza-themed pencil case to the more eccentric, such as cult clothes, a traffic cone, and golden underwear.

As reported by Automaton, fans have the opportunity to select from an impressive list of 100 items. RGG Studio has committed to producing the top two vote-getters within the next two years. While the competition is primarily listed in Japanese, fans worldwide can participate by submitting their votes on the official website.

Some of the items up for vote are deeply rooted in the series' quirky history. These include the cult outfit from Yakuza 0 worn by Munan Suzuki, the leader of The Order of Munan Chohept Onast; the oversized traffic cone used by Majima to ambush Kiryu in Yakuza Kiwami; and the eye-catching "Puffy Gold Pants." Other notable items include the sake Majima drinks in a shack in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prisoner uniform from Yakuza 4, among many other unique pieces.

In addition to the merchandise celebration, the franchise is set to release Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 21, 2025, ensuring at least one new entry during its anniversary year. RGG Studio previously celebrated the 10th anniversary with the beloved prequel Yakuza 0, but no similar projects have been announced for later in 2025 yet.

While the idea of two releases in one year might seem ambitious, RGG Studio is renowned for its swift development cycles. Over the past five years, they've successfully launched Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, along with two Super Monkey Ball games and an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5, totaling nine games.
