Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide

Your adventure kicks off in the heart of town, directly opposite the Gun Store and Hospital, and right in front of the Trading Hut. Start by offloading any excess loot and gearing up. I recommend grabbing a Rifle for just $75—it packs enough punch to fend off most foes temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to power your boat's vintage engine.

The next town is a hefty 10,000m away, so fire up your boat and set sail. While you can stop to battle and loot Zombies and Drowned, I suggest skipping the houses along the way as they don't hold much value. To keep your ship running, simply refuel with coal. Don't let the worm on the right side spook you. Hold onto your loot until you reach the second safe zone to sell, but stay vigilant against Big Foot and Zombie mobs flanking the river.

Beyond the second safe zone, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're in a group, clear them out, but solo players might find it a time-waster due to scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house packed with Drowned and valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use it wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips and Tricks

The core gameplay remains straightforward—kill, loot, repeat and hope the enemy falls. To master the game, focus on efficiency. Use your boat as your primary inventory by emptying your bag upon returning to save time and space.

A helpful tip from my experience crafting this guide is to stack Zombies near the incinerator. Although the urge to escape those backwater towns is strong, efficient loot stacking pays off. Running low on fuel? Toss a few Zombies in and you're set.

Also, keep an eye on Sheriff's offices as they often swarm with mobs but offer great rewards in weapons and ammo. I sustained my shotgun with a friend clearing the ground floor as we explored each town.

Conserve your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a hotspot for ambushes. Don't venture here alone; a group of three to five is ideal. Be efficient with your loot collection.

Avoid engaging Big Feet past 30,000m—they're tough, hit hard, and require a lot of ammo to defeat safely. Prioritize your stops and remember, not all loot is worth the risk.

The town beyond 50,000m is one of my favorite spots for farming. With numerous Drowned and Zombies, it's perfect for those with Shotguns or Sawn-offs. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prep bodies for loading quickly.

In the final safe zone, sell all your goods and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned—ensure you have a stash of 8-10 corpses for fuel during this critical phase. As you approach 100,000m, you'll hit open waters, ready to confront the beast. The impending battle is signaled by darkening skies.

As the camera zooms out, the Kraken emerges. Immediately, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can deal damage if not repelled. With a five-person crew, form a pentagram-like formation and tackle your assigned tentacle.

Watch out for the water splash attack, which causes area damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back its tentacle, creating a water trail. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.

Finally, beware of the Roar AoE—it inflicts minor, unblockable damage and seems to enhance the boss's damage output. You'll notice it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle.
