After two failed launches and months of anticipation, Rune Slayer has arrived, and it's fantastic! While incredibly fun, the game has a steep learning curve, especially for MMORPG newcomers. Fear not, this guide will help you conquer your Rune Slayer journey.

Here are some crucial tips we wish we'd known earlier to make the game much smoother.
Don't Randomly Attack Other Players
Screenshot by The EscapistInitial concerns about Rune Slayer's full-loot PvP proved unfounded (mostly). Death doesn't mean losing items, regardless of the killer. However, attacking players earns you a bounty. The higher your bounty, the more loot you drop upon death. Therefore, avoid unprovoked player attacks unless you have a compelling reason—or a group of friends for backup!
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistInventory and bank space are severely limited. Fortunately, you can craft bags! Two bags can be equipped simultaneously, starting with the Cotton Bag. Find Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of tougher mobs there). Each Cotton Bag adds 10 inventory slots—craft them ASAP!
Your Pets Don't Actually Die
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to popular belief, your pets don't perish permanently. A five-minute cooldown prevents summoning after a pet reaches zero health. Check the cooldown by holding T. After five minutes, resummon your pet by holding T again. Bonus tip: Quickly heal your pet by storing and retrieving it at the stable master (you have one free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The EscapistRune Slayer boasts an overwhelming number of non-repeatable, forgettable "kill X" quests. To streamline your experience, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. This often allows combining multiple quests into single runs. You'll be surprised how many quests you've accumulated!
Craft Everything at Least Once
Screenshot by The EscapistCraft necessary items first, but use spare materials to craft anything you can. Crafting often unlocks new, stronger items. For example, smelting Iron Ore unlocked a range of Iron Armor recipes for us. Don't hoard materials; craft away!
Join a Guild
Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but tougher enemies require group effort. Guilds provide the easiest way to find groups, especially for challenging high-health bosses. Join the official Rune Slayer Discord server or shout in general chat to find a guild and conquer those tough foes together.
That's it! Enjoy Rune Slayer! Check out the Rune Slayer Trello and Discord for more information.
