Sweeney Leads Split Fiction Movie
Sydney Sweeney confirmed for lead role in Split Fiction film adaptation.
Last month, reports surfaced about Hazelight's hit game being developed into a feature film by Story Kitchen, the production company behind Sonic's successful video game adaptations, which is currently assembling its creative team.
Variety reveals that Split Fiction's cinematic adaptation is progressing rapidly, with Madame Web actress Sydney Sweeney officially attached to the project. Jon M. Chu, known for directing Wicked, is onboard to helm the film, while Deadpool & Wolverine writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are handling the screenplay. Story Kitchen reportedly plans to pitch this high-profile package to major Hollywood studios.
The burning question remains which twin sister Sweeney will portray—Zoe or Mio—with Variety noting this crucial casting decision remains undetermined.

Despite launching just this March, Split Fiction became another breakout success for Hazelight and creator Josef Fares, surpassing 2 million sales within its first week. The title is also slated as a launch game for Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 console.
IGN's glowing Split Fiction review scored it 9/10, praising it as "a masterfully designed cooperative adventure that dynamically shifts between genres, delivering relentless innovation in gameplay that's irresistibly compelling."
This marks Hazelight's second game heading to Hollywood, following news of It Takes Two's adaptation potentially starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
While these adaptations aren't guaranteed to materialize, Hollywood's current appetite for successful video game-to-film conversions suggests strong potential.
Story Kitchen continues expanding its video game adaptation slate, having announced last year a Just Cause movie directed by Blue Beetle's Ángel Manuel Soto, along with adaptations of Dredge, Kingmakers, and Sleeping Dogs, plus an unconventional live-action Toys 'R' Us project.
Meanwhile, Hazelight has already begun teasing development of their next groundbreaking game.
