After completing the prologue, you'll continue playing as Naoe for several hours.

For those eager to experience the Samurai perspective right away, you'll need to wait until nearly the end of the first act. The early game focuses solely on Naoe, with Yasuke making his playable debut during the Temple of the Horseman Quest. He then becomes playable again for the Fire and Lightning Quest. Once you complete this quest and Act I, you'll gain the ability to switch between the two protagonists more freely.

How Long Does it Take to Unlock Protagonist Switching in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

When selecting a fast travel point, you'll see two options: one to fast travel as your current character and another to fast travel as the other protagonist. Choosing the latter will allow you to switch to the other character at your chosen location, whether it's a Synchronization point or a Kakurega Hideout.

Additionally, during certain story quests, you'll have the option to choose which protagonist to play as when the quest is presented.
