Starfield PS5 Launch Teased by PlayStation Logo on Bethesda Creations Site
Rumors of a Starfield PlayStation 5 release gained traction after fans noticed a PlayStation logo on Bethesda’s official Creations website over the weekend.
The logo appeared on a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield. Though the Creation was later removed, speculation is mounting that Bethesda’s sci-fi title, previously exclusive to PC and Xbox, may soon hit PS5.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

Attention is now turning to whether Bethesda is planning a major content update, possibly a new expansion, to align with Starfield’s anticipated PS5 debut. The game has seen little buzz since the underwhelming Shattered Space expansion. Microsoft, Bethesda’s parent company, is expected to host its annual summer showcase, which could reveal more about Starfield’s future.
Bethesda has promised “exciting things” for Starfield in 2025, addressing player frustration over limited updates and communication. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to Starfield, confirming at least one more story expansion after Shattered Space. In a YouTube channel MrMattyPlays interview, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard shared plans for annual story expansions for “hopefully a very long time.”

Starfield, Bethesda’s first new IP in years, launched in September 2023 and was the studio’s first major single-player title since Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN’s Starfield review gave it a 7/10, noting: “Starfield faces challenges, but its deep roleplaying quests and solid combat create a compelling gravitational pull.”
In January, Microsoft gaming CEO Phil Spencer didn’t rule out a PS5 release for Starfield. Reports from March 2024 suggested both Starfield and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were being considered for PS5. Indiana Jones was later confirmed for a spring 2025 PS5 release, following its PC and Xbox debut. Starfield’s PS5 version remains unconfirmed, though Spencer’s remarks hint at its likelihood.
Several Xbox titles, including Rare’s Sea of Thieves, Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush, and Obsidian’s Grounded and Pentiment, are now on PS5. Microsoft already supports Minecraft on PlayStation and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Playground’s Forza Horizon 5 is also slated for PS5. Reports even suggest Microsoft may bring Halo to PlayStation, ending decades of Xbox exclusivity.

Spencer has explained that Xbox’s multiplatform strategy aims to boost revenue for Microsoft’s gaming division, especially after the $69 billion Activision Blizzard acquisition.
“We run a business,” Spencer said in August last year. “Microsoft sets a high bar for our delivery. Their support allows us to pursue ambitious projects.”
“We focus on strengthening our games and growing our platform across console, PC, and cloud. This strategy drives our success.”
Bethesda Game Studios, with 450 staff across five teams, is juggling Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile projects, and external partnerships.
