GSC Gameworld has outlined two significant focuses: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and ongoing improvements to the A-Life system. They are planning a closed beta with mod creators to rigorously test the ModKit before its official release. Additionally, the integration of Mod.io and Steam Workshop is on the agenda, enhancing the game's modding ecosystem.

The A-Life system, which governs the game's NPC AI and simulation, is set for further enhancements. Following a substantial 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are now focusing on "persistent A-Life improvements" and "smarter human combat" with better utilization of cover and flanking tactics, as well as more strategic use of grenades.

Further updates include new behaviors for mutants, such as consuming corpses and reacting to threats. Players can also look forward to mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wider screen aspect ratios, the introduction of two new unspecified weapons, and continuous efforts towards stabilization and optimization.

As a bonus, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can anticipate a next-gen update. More details on these enhancements will be shared as their release dates approach.
