Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Debuts Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects
The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global, bringing exciting new Adventure Effects to enhance your gameplay outside of battle. Don't forget to utilize the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings during this event.
Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock creates an electrically charged ice field for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows the target ring during encounters, aiding you in achieving those coveted Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum total of 24 hours.
During the event, you can challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to collect Fusion Energy. After fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will replace Glaciate. These moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Note that currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You have the option to choose between two event badges: Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version means encountering Kyurem that know Glaciate after defeating Black Kyurem, along with Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version grants Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your progression, make use of the Tour Pass, which unlocks various rewards and boosts your Adventure Effects. You can collect Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs. Alternatively, speed up your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone increases your Catch XP and extends the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For the ultimate experience, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, more event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with someone from your Friend List, enhancing your next trade.
The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event is scheduled from February 24th to March 2nd.
