Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds Trading and New Expansion This Month
If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, your wait is almost over. The hotly anticipated trading feature is set to launch on January 29th, and it will be accompanied by a brand-new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown, releasing the very next day on January 30th.
Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket will allow you to exchange certain rarities of cards with friends, mirroring the experience of in-person trading. To facilitate these trades, you'll need to use trade hourglasses and trade tokens, adding an intriguing layer of authenticity to the digital version of the iconic physical card collector.
The Space-Time Smackdown expansion is fittingly named and will introduce fan-favorite cards from the Sinnoh region into Pokémon TCG Pocket. This expansion will feature two new digital booster packs, including the iconic legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. If legendary Pokémon aren't your focus, you'll be thrilled to see other favorites like Lucario, as well as the Sinnoh region's starting trio: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. These cards will be accessible through the Wonder Pick feature, in addition to traditional booster packs.
This update is poised to be a hit, not just for the addition of long-awaited Pokémon to the roster, but also for the introduction of the trading feature. There have been some discussions about how trading will function, but the promise of continuous improvements to this feature bodes well for a smooth experience.
