Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, significantly enhancing its ties to the Superman universe by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner in the opening scene. The trailer begins with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl conducting a rather dismissive interview with John Cena's Peacemaker for a potential superhero team. The interview quickly goes south, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he storms out of the building.

These characters offer fresh glimpses into some of the supporting cast who will also appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie.

Peacemaker Season 2 is slated to premiere on August 21, following the July 11 release of Superman, marking it as the third installment in the new DCU, which was officially launched with the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.

James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran's revamped cinematic universe aims to distance itself from the critically panned DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, some elements from the old universe will persist. Peacemaker serves as a prime example of this continuity, transitioning from Season 1 in the DCEU to Season 2 in the new DCU.

Gunn has also clarified that the show will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting Peacemaker's storyline.
