Developer Build A Rocket Boy has unveiled a new trailer for MindsEye, confirming its $59.99 price point and detailing the content players can expect at launch.

Under the leadership of former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy announced that MindsEye will launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Here is the official description:

Set in the near-future city of Redrock, MindsEye offers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier tormented by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant. As he unravels a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a sinister threat to humanity's survival, the game's narrative is brought to life with cutting-edge visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Also noteworthy is MindsEye's PC-exclusive game creation system, allowing players to build their own experiences using all of the game's assets.

The studio described the $59.99 price as "a refreshing departure from the standard $70–$80 AAA price tag." But what exactly does the $60 purchase include?

At launch, players get the "tightly crafted linear story campaign," a "single-player free roam" mode, and several missions: a horde mode mission named "Destruction Site Shootout," plus two combat missions ("Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire"). The release also features six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Premium Pass holders receive an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

Video game pricing remains a hot-button topic in the industry, especially after Nintendo raised the price of Mario Kart World to $80 and Microsoft's plans to adopt $80 pricing this holiday season. Other companies are expected to follow, with titles like Gearbox's Borderlands 4 at the center of pricing debates following controversial remarks from Randy Pitchford.

Meanwhile, some mid-range titles have achieved significant success at a $50 price point, such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. 2K's upcoming Mafia: The Old Country is also set to release at $50. MindsEye appears to position itself in a middle ground between these pricing tiers.

That covers the launch content, but what about post-launch support? Build A Rocket Boy promises a "steady flow" of fresh premium content every month, "ensuring MindsEye remains a vibrant, ever-expanding player experience." This includes new missions, challenges, and game assets. "With a continuous stream of studio-developed content alongside the community's most creative contributions, MindsEye will continue to surprise and delight players for years to come," the studio added.

Build A Rocket Boy also outlined its 2025 content roadmap: Summer will bring community updates and new missions; Fall introduces new single-player modes, multiplayer, and further missions; Winter updates will expand free roam and add more missions. Premium Pass owners gain access to extra missions and new packs throughout the year.
