Marvel Rivals Dev Commits to New Hero Every 1.5 Months
NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as the game progresses through its seasons. In a recent interview with Metro, the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, outlined the team's ambitious post-launch strategy. Chen emphasized their commitment to a steady stream of content, promising a new playable character every half-season, which translates to approximately every six weeks.
"Every season we'll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We'll actually be breaking down each season into two halves," Chen explained. "The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community."
As each season concludes, fans are left eagerly anticipating the next hero reveal. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls set a strong precedent by introducing Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch slated to join the roster in the second half. These iconic characters from the Marvel universe have undoubtedly added significant value to the game, but maintaining this momentum will be an ongoing challenge for NetEase Games.
The game launched with an impressive lineup of heroes, including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, among others. Rumors suggest that Blade might make an appearance in Season 2, while fans are also clamoring for characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and additional X-Men members. Although the future expansion of the Marvel Rivals roster remains uncertain, the game's early success indicates that NetEase Games is poised to keep the excitement alive.
Alongside new hero introductions, Marvel Rivals Season 1 brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates on the horizon.
