inZOI Teases Plans for Karma System and Ghost Zois
inZOI's Director Unveils Plans for Karma System and Ghostly Encounters
inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim recently revealed intriguing details about an upcoming Karma system, introducing a paranormal element to the game's realistic setting. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.

According to Kim's February 7, 2025 Discord post, Zois with sufficient Karma points will peacefully transition to the afterlife. However, those with insufficient Karma will linger as ghosts, tasked with accumulating enough points to move on. The specific actions required to restore Karma points remain undisclosed for now.

Kim emphasized a balanced approach to the ghost mechanic, aiming to avoid overshadowing core gameplay while ensuring engaging interactions. In the Early Access version, players will encounter ghost Zois under specific circumstances and at designated times, primarily through unique conversations.

Kim expressed a desire to explore more fantastical elements alongside inZOI's realism, suggesting that these paranormal additions will enhance the game's overall experience.
A Sneak Peek at Karma Interactions
A sponsored video by MadMorph, a content creator partnering with Krafton Inc. (inZOI's publisher), offered a brief glimpse into the Karma system in August 2024. The video showcased "Karma Interactions," a feature providing players with various choices that impact their Karma score. Examples included less-than-savory actions (like secretly farting on another Zoi) and positive actions (like disposing of trash or liking a friend's post), although the latter weren't demonstrated in the video.

While the Early Access release (March 28, 2025 on Steam) will focus on the living Zois, the Karma system and its consequences will play a larger role in future updates.

The addition of this Karma system and ghost mechanic promises a unique and intriguing layer to inZOI's already compelling simulation of life.
