League of Legends Hextech Chest Brought Back After Fan Feedback

League of Legends is set to reintroduce Hextech Chests following significant fan feedback. Dive into this article to discover what's in store with the upcoming update and the future plans for LoL.

League of Legends Reverses Unpopular Changes

Hextech Chests Make a Comeback

League of Legends (LoL) has announced the return of Hextech Chests after taking into account the voices of its community. On February 27, 2025, Riot Games released a developer update on their website, complemented by a video on their YouTube channel, outlining the forthcoming changes.

Riot Games acknowledged that recent modifications did not meet player expectations, stating, "Recently, we’ve made a number of changes that didn’t hit the mark for everyone. We’ve been listening to your feedback, and it’s clear that there are areas where we need to adjust."

The reintroduction of Hextech Chests was a direct response to fan demand. LoL explained, "It’s clear that for many of you, Hextech Chests weren’t just a way to get stuff, they were an important part of making your time in League feel rewarding. We didn’t fully grasp how much this mattered to you, and that led us to make changes that missed the mark."

Starting with patch 25.05, players will once again be able to earn up to 10 Hextech Chests and keys per act. Eight of these chests will be available through the free pass, while the other two can be obtained via the Honor system.

Exalted Mordekaiser Delayed and More Fan-Driven Adjustments

Riot Games has also announced the delay of the Exalted Mordekaiser skin as they aim to "take more time to make sure it better delivers on its core fantasy." This delay extends to the entire Exalted skin line, meaning fans won't see a new skin every Act as initially planned.

In response to further fan feedback, LoL will replace one non-Prestige skin with 25 Mythic Essence, addressing concerns about the lack of Mythic Essence in the paid Pass and the frequency of champion skins per seasonal theme.

Recognizing the importance of accessibility, LoL will also reduce the Blue Essence cost for all champions by 50% starting in patch 25.05, in response to ongoing discussions about blue essence and champion shards.

Another reversal involves Clash. Initially set to run less frequently, Riot Games has decided to return to a monthly schedule. The upcoming March Clash event will feature ARURF, followed by a standard Summoner's Rift (SR) Clash in April.

Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop Return

Responding to fan requests, LoL will bring back the Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop. Your Shop is scheduled to return in patch 25.06, and the Emporium will follow in patch 25.07.

Riot Games emphasized their ongoing commitment to improvement, stating, "We know getting League to the right place isn’t about just one set of changes. It’s about continually refining and improving the game in ways that make it better. We think today’s updates are an important step, and we’ll keep tracking how these changes feel, talking with all of you about how things are landing, and making adjustments."

With these responsive actions, Riot Games demonstrates its dedication to listening to its community and tailoring League of Legends to meet player expectations. The game remains free-to-play on PC. Stay updated with the latest on League of Legends by visiting our dedicated page.
