Freedom Wars Remastered is an exhilarating action game set in a dystopian future where players, known as Sinners, fight to safeguard humanity from monstrous creatures called Abductors. To boost their combat prowess, players can enhance their weapons and accessories. Upgrading weapons involves boosting their base stats and integrating modules that offer various enhancements.

Players can start upgrading their weapons early in the game, without having to depend solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide provides detailed steps on how players can upgrade their weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

To upgrade weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, players must advance through the main story until they reach Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners gain access to the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. In the Weapon Development Facility, players can oversee all their weapons. Upgrading necessitates specific resources and your hard-earned Entitlement Points. However, you can lower these costs by enlisting the help of a Citizen. Various Citizens are available, each providing different reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. Although it may seem complex at first, the system becomes straightforward once you get the hang of it.

Before proceeding with an upgrade, you'll be shown a screen detailing the changes to your weapon's stats post-upgrade. The Weapon Development Facility also enables players to add Elements and experiment with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, players need to purchase the required permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

In the early stages of the main story, most missions don't yield substantial rewards in terms of high-Grade weapons. While you can buy weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, these are mostly limited to Grade Level 1, making upgrading nearly essential. One of your CODE 3 Exams requires obtaining higher Grade Development Facility Permits. With these permits, you can upgrade any weapon of your choice and stick with it, donating Low-Grade weapons found during missions for a reduced sentence and additional Entitlement Points.

The first upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements linked to the upgrading system, making it attractive for trophy hunters. The damage disparity between weapons of different Grades is significant, incentivizing players to invest time in improving their gear.

Finally, players can access the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, but this feature unlocks later in the game.
