Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Aims to Redeem Role
Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix's Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has sparked speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in the Netflix series, has expressed his eagerness to return to the role. Jones last donned the Iron Fist mantle in 2018 during Season 2 of the series and in the crossover event, The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).
Despite mixed reviews of Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist, with some fans feeling less enthusiastic about his performance compared to other Defenders, the actor remains hopeful. The integration of Daredevil into the MCU has fueled speculation about the potential revival of The Defenders. Recent reports have suggested that Marvel is exploring the idea of bringing back the team.
At LaConve, an anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism he faced. He acknowledged the mixed reception but expressed his determination to improve and prove his critics wrong. "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen," Jones stated, referring to his potential return as Iron Fist. "There's a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I'm very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I'm here and I'm ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

The revival of Daredevil in the MCU, titled "Daredevil: Born Again," continues the story directly from the Netflix series, which was part of a smaller-scale Marvel universe alongside shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These shows, and the overarching Defenders saga, are now considered MCU canon and are available on Disney+. Additionally, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another character from the Netflix universe, will also appear in "Daredevil: Born Again," further blending the universes.
