In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing certain side tasks can lead to failure if you can't return to them later. One such crucial side task is finding Rosa's book, which is essential for both completing the quest and potentially romancing Rosa. Let's dive into how you can unlock and complete the "Rosa's Book" side quest.

Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest

To unlock this quest, you must first complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," after assisting the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak—either through force or persuasion—you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll inform you about a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. After discussing the passage, Rosa will ask you to retrieve a book for her while you're there. Make sure to ask her about the specific book and promise to bring it back to her, which officially starts the "Rosa's Book" side quest.

Remember, you can only complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the chance to romance Rosa. Fortunately, the book is conveniently located on your path to Hans' room.

Finding Rosa's Book in Maleshov

Upon entering Maleshov, head to the largest tower where Hans is located at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs near a small kitchen. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Next, sneak up the stairs to a room where Lady Ofka is seated, facing the fireplace. Quietly approach from behind and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. In this same room, to the right of the fireplace, you'll spot Rosa's book in a window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

Before leaving, enter the adjacent room and grab another sword from the chest to save time when meeting Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. Then, proceed to the top level and unlock the left door to trigger a cutscene.

Completing "Taking French Leave" and Returning the Book

After the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans won't use the passageway, you can still work towards romancing him by selecting the heart dialogue option here, provided you chose the same in Trosky. Sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary. Clear a path, signal Hans, and ensure he reaches the stables safely.

Once you open the gate, another cutscene will play, concluding the quest. Afterward, head back to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to give Rosa her much-desired book in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
