Clash of Clans is set to ditch Troop Training times in major overhaul
Clash of Clans, a stalwart in the mobile gaming world, is poised for a significant transformation that will shake up its core mechanics. The upcoming update promises to eliminate troop, spell, and siege unit training times entirely, allowing players to deploy their army almost instantly and dive into battles with unprecedented speed. This change is set to revolutionize the gameplay experience, making it more dynamic and engaging for both new and veteran players.
Supercell's decision to remove training times follows their earlier move in 2022 to eliminate training costs, signaling a clear intent to modernize the game and address long-standing player frustrations. As part of this shift, Training Potions and Training Treats will no longer be available for purchase in-app or through chest rewards. Players are urged to use these items before the end of the month, as they will be converted to Gems thereafter. However, they can still be acquired through the Trader and Gold Pass temporarily.
To complement this major overhaul, Supercell is introducing a new feature called "Match Anytime." This mechanic allows players to engage in battles against snapshots of other players' bases when real-time opponents are unavailable. This system ensures continuous engagement and rewards, without penalizing the players whose bases are used. It's a feature that's already familiar in Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, but it will now become a standard option across the game.
Alongside these changes, players should also note that Army Donations will now require Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a comprehensive understanding of all the updates and their implications, be sure to visit the Supercell blog.
