Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is gearing up to bring the beloved Digimon franchise back to mobile devices with Digimon Alysion, a digital rendition of the Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play title is set to launch on Android and iOS, though an exact release date is yet to be announced.

The official announcement came during Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also shared exciting updates about other projects. Fans can look forward to a new arc in Digimon Liberator in April 2025. The event also featured a special video celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, alongside the reveal of a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Additionally, a new RPG titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger is in development for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital clone of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a unique feature called 'DigiAly' cards, which are exclusive to this mobile version. Alongside these, the game will include new Digimon and characters, adding fresh content for players to explore.

The game's character lineup, prominently featuring an all-female cast, marks a distinctive shift from traditional digital card games. This choice has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were hoping for a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming, and their previous attempts have met with mixed success. With two prior failures, there's a cautious optimism surrounding Digimon Alysion's potential to succeed where others have faltered.

Despite the uncertainties, anticipation for Digimon Alysion remains high. A closed beta test is on the horizon, though specifics are still undisclosed. For the latest updates, fans can visit the official website or follow their X account.
