About Hazari
Hazari is a captivating four-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards, and the objective is to arrange them from highest to lowest. Once a player has organized their cards, they signal they are ready by calling "up." The game begins when all players are up, starting with the player to the right of the dealer.
Players take turns throwing cards, and the highest card value wins the round, allowing the winner to take all the cards played and throw the next set. After all cards have been played, they are counted, and points are assigned. Cards from Ace (A) to 10 are worth 10 points each, while cards from 9 to 2 are worth 5 points each. The ultimate goal is to reach 1000 points across multiple games to be declared the winner.
In scenarios where multiple players throw the same card type, the player with the highest-ranking set wins. For example, if player 1 throws AKQ of Hearts, player 2 throws 678 of Spades, player 3 throws AKQ of Diamonds, and player 4 throws 55J of Hearts, player 3 wins with AKQ of Diamonds.
Rules for Winning
- TROY: Three cards of the same rank (e.g., AAA, KKK, QQQ, JJJ, 10-10-10, down to 222).
- COLOR RUN: Three consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., AKQ of Spades, A23 of Hearts, KQJ of Clubs, down to 432 of Diamonds).
- RUN: Three consecutive cards of any suit (e.g., AKQ of mixed suits, A23 of mixed suits, down to 432 of mixed suits).
- COLOR: Any three cards of the same suit, valued by their highest card (e.g., K83 of Spades vs. K92 of Spades, where K92 wins).
- PAIR: Two cards of the same rank with a third card (e.g., 443, 99J, QQ6), with AAK being the highest and 223 the lowest.
- INDI or INDIVIDUALS: Any three cards that do not form a set, valued by the highest card (e.g., 5 of Hearts, 7 of Spades, 9 of Diamonds, where 9 is the highest card).
How to Play
To start, each player arranges their 13 cards into four sets: three sets of three cards and one set of four cards. The game progresses as follows:
- The first player throws their highest set of three cards, and the other players follow suit with their highest sets.
- The winner of the first round throws their next highest set of three cards, and the cycle continues.
- The third round follows the same pattern.
- The final round involves the remaining four cards, with the winner of the third round starting.
- The game continues until a player accumulates 1000 points.
