What is RSTI?
The Self-Employed Workers' Social Scheme (RSTI) is a new social protection initiative by the National Social Security Fund (CNPS) designed to safeguard self-employed individuals against various life events. This scheme offers protection against illness, accidents, and maternity, and ensures a lifetime pension upon retirement.
Who is a Self-Employed Worker?
The RSTI targets all self-employed workers residing in Côte d'Ivoire, whether they are Ivorian or foreign nationals. It covers a broad range of professions, including farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miners, non-salaried entrepreneurs, religious figures, and Ivorians working abroad.
What are the Advantages of RSTI?
In cases of illness or accidents resulting in incapacity, self-employed workers are entitled to receive income based on their declared earnings to the CNPS. For maternity, beneficiaries receive income for 98 days. Upon reaching the age of 60, retirees under RSTI receive a lifelong pension. In the event of the pensioner's death, the pension continues to be paid to eligible beneficiaries under specified conditions.
