Yangon Galacticos Win PUBG Mobile 2025 Regional Clash
The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 concluded this past weekend, marking a thrilling end to the latest PUBG Mobile esports tournament. Team Yangon Galacticos emerged as the champions, securing their victory with an overwhelming points lead and taking home the lion's share of the $20,000 prize pool provided by PUBG.
The tournament was held on PUBG's newest and largest map, Rondo, which hosted 16 teams that qualified through various tournaments. Notable qualifiers included D'Xavier from PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers from PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE from PMSL CSA Fall.
Yangon Galacticos clinched the win under the newly introduced SMASH format rules, which required a team to accumulate over 30 points and then secure a victory in a different match. However, since no team achieved this after six matches, the championship was awarded to Yangon Galacticos based on their superior points total.
Around the world, HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports claimed the second and third spots, respectively, highlighting the success of the Rondo Cup and PUBG Mobile's ambitious esports plans that have been on the rise since 2024.
Interestingly, the first tournament to introduce the SMASH rule did not see any team win via this method, sparking curiosity about its future in upcoming events. Whether the SMASH format will encourage more skilled and entertaining gameplay remains to be seen and will likely be a decision for the organizers.
