New Word Game Letterlike Combines Balatro and Scrabble!

Word game enthusiasts have a thrilling new challenge with the launch of Letterlike, a roguelike word game that ingeniously blends elements of Balatro and Scrabble. The unique combination of vocabulary prowess and roguelike randomness promises an experience that's truly innovative!

How to Play Letterlike

Letterlike is designed as a roguelike, meaning each game session offers a fresh set of letters and challenges, all procedurally generated. This leads to infinite possibilities and, with them, endless opportunities for victory.

At the start of each game, you'll receive a collection of letters. Your mission? Form meaningful words, accumulate points, and progress through various levels, each consisting of three rounds. To advance, you must score sufficiently by creating high-scoring words, reminiscent of Scrabble. You're allowed five attempts (or lives) per round, so strategize your moves wisely.

Encountering a challenging set of letters? No need to fret. You have the option to discard unwanted letters, though remember, discards are limited, so choose strategically. Additionally, the rearrange mode empowers you to drag, drop, shuffle, and manipulate the letters to your advantage.

In the climactic final round of each level, a special ability activates, rendering certain letters useless and scoring zero points. This twist adds an extra layer of strategy to your gameplay.

Points and rewards earned can be invested in items that enhance your runs. Some buffs are automatically applied, while others unlock at specific levels. Collecting gems also allows you to acquire powerful upgrades, smoothing the path for future runs.

Will You Give It a Try?

Letterlike stands out with its simple, minimalist design yet delivers a fun and engaging experience. The game supports replaying specific runs with friends using shared seeds, allowing you to share particularly challenging letter combinations and enjoy the struggle together!

The game is ad-free and available for a one-time purchase. It can be played offline, and for those curious, a free demo version is available. If you're intrigued, head over to the Google Play Store to try out the demo of Letterlike.
