Ubisoft Details Character Customization and Progression in Assassin's Creed: Shadows
Ubisoft has unveiled new gameplay details for *Assassin’s Creed: Shadows*, offering a deep dive into the progression and equipment systems for protagonists Yasuke and Naoe. One of the most anticipated features is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, delivering an even more satisfying assassination experience that long-time fans will love.
Each character boasts a unique skill tree designed around their distinct combat approach—Yasuke excels in samurai-style combat, while Naoe specializes in stealthy shinobi tactics. Players can invest skill points to unlock advanced weapon techniques or enhance existing fighting styles. Mastery points, essential for deeper progression, are earned by completing open-world missions or defeating elite enemies such as the powerful Daisyo samurai.
To maintain balanced development between both characters, Ubisoft has implemented a shared progression system that ensures neither Yasuke nor Naoe falls behind the other. Unlocking high-tier abilities often requires specific in-game actions, such as locating and engaging with a secretive shinobi faction. Additional upgrades are linked to the “Knowledge” progression system, which advances by studying historical manuscripts or performing rituals at sacred shrines. Upon reaching the sixth rank in Knowledge, players gain access to an entirely new set of advanced skills.
The game also introduces a robust equipment system featuring five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can enhance their gear at blacksmith stations and personalize its appearance for a unique look. Armor and weapon perks further diversify gameplay, offering strategic advantages that influence combat and exploration.
As expected, the Hidden Blade remains a core element of the Assassin’s Creed experience. In *Shadows*, it functions more effectively than ever, allowing players to perform instant takedowns with precision and flair.
*Assassin’s Creed: Shadows* launches globally on [ttpp] for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, promising a rich, interconnected world filled with history, strategy, and seamless dual-character gameplay.
