"Spider-Man Series on Disney+ Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3"
The Disney+ animated series, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," which follows Peter Parker's adventures during his first year of high school, has already secured renewals for both Season 2 and Season 3. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared exciting updates with The Movie Podcast. Despite Season 1 not premiering until January 29, scripts for Season 2 are complete, and half of the animatics have already been finished. Winderbaum expressed his deep connection to the characters, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off."
He highlighted the emotional investment viewers will experience, noting that the groundwork laid in Season 1 will pay off beautifully by the end, with the connection deepening further in the subsequent seasons. Winderbaum mentioned that he will be meeting with Trammell in a few weeks to discuss the pitch for Season 3, although he kept details about the release dates of both Season 2 and Season 3 under wraps.
