Looking back on the year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap is now available.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike last year, 2024 marks the debut of Snapchat's Snap Recap. Similar to Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, it compiles your year's Snapchat activity into a fun highlight reel. However, instead of detailed statistics, it showcases a single snap from each month, offering a nostalgic look back at your year. The recap seamlessly transitions into other Memories features, including flashbacks from previous years.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button). Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your curated snaps. The recap plays automatically; tap the screen to advance if desired. You can save, edit, send, or even share your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, Snapchat Support explains that the rollout is gradual. Your recap might not yet be generated. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created; infrequent use might be the reason for its absence. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
