Garry Newman, the creator of Garry's Mod, confirmed to IGN that he received a DMCA takedown notice late last year from individuals claiming to represent the Skibidi Toilet copyright holders. Newman expressed his disbelief on a Discord server, stating, "Can you believe the cheek?" This sparked a viral controversy surrounding a Skibidi Toilet-related DMCA dispute involving Garry's Mod. While Newman confirmed the resolution of the matter, the identity of the party who sent the DMCA notice remains undisclosed.
The DMCA targeted "unauthorized Skibidi Toilet Garry's Mod" creations, which, according to the sender, generate substantial revenue. These user-created games feature characters from the Skibidi Toilet web series, including Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, and Titan TV Man, all allegedly protected by registered copyrights.
