"Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Unveiled: Super Thin Design"

Author : Daniel May 25,2025

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, its latest flagship smartphone, at the May Unpacked event. While it shares many similarities with the earlier-released Galaxy S25, the new model boasts a thinner design that truly sets it apart.

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge closely mirrors the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and feature a 200MP camera. The key distinction lies in the chassis, which has been impressively slimmed down to a mere 5.8mm from the 8.2mm of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This reduction in thickness also makes the phone lighter, now weighing only 163g.

The Galaxy S25 Edge retains the same 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display as the Samsung Galaxy S25, despite having specifications nearly identical to the slightly larger 6.9-inch Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Given its slim and large form factor, durability is a significant concern for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung addresses this by introducing Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which is touted to be more durable than the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. A major question remains about its resilience when subjected to everyday pressures like sitting on it in a pocket—can it avoid becoming another "bendgate" scenario?

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also incorporates the same suite of "Mobile AI" tools that were introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S24 and further enhanced in 2025. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset enables significant AI processing on the device itself, enhancing privacy. However, many AI applications still depend on cloud computing. Samsung offers unique features like summarizing notifications and news articles for a quick overview.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is now available for preorder, starting at $1,099 for the 256GB model and $1,219 for the 512GB model. It comes in three elegant color options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icyblue.

Samsung is keen to emphasize the durability of this slim device; we'll have to wait and see if their claims hold up in real-world use.
