Rumored Banner Return in Genshin Impact 5.4 Update
Genshin Impact 5.4 Leak: Wriothesley Rerun After Over a Year?
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, marking over a year since his initial appearance in the Fortress of Meropide. This highlights Genshin Impact's ongoing challenge in balancing its ever-expanding roster of over 90 playable characters with limited rerun slots on Event Banners. With approximately one new 5-star character per patch, the demand for yearly reruns far surpasses the available banner space.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. Even with this system, Shenhe's rerun took over 600 days. Until the introduction of triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns seem inevitable.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His powerful Burnmelt team compositions make him a desirable character, but his absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has frustrated many players. However, the leak from Flying Flame points to his return in Version 5.4.
Wriothesley's Potential Return in Version 5.4
It's crucial to approach this leak with caution, as Flying Flame's track record is inconsistent. While they accurately predicted the Version 5.3 Chronicled Banner, other predictions have proven inaccurate. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buffs favorably impact Wriothesley's gameplay, lending some credence to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to feature Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner addition. If Mizuki and Wriothesley share the Event Banners, the remaining slot likely features either Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive a sequential rerun. Version 5.4's projected release date is February 12, 2025.
