Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects
According to Remedy's latest annual report, Control 2 has successfully navigated through the concept validation phase and is now in full production. This milestone marks a significant step forward, solidifying the project's trajectory towards completion.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two other exciting projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were in the pre-production stage, but they've since progressed to more advanced development phases. However, the project Kestrel, which was being developed in partnership with Tencent, has been dropped from the studio's lineup, having been canceled in May of the previous year.
All these projects are leveraging Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy-developed games.
Regarding budgets, Control 2 is set with an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, alongside being available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 keep their budget under wraps, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level productions. Both development and marketing for these remakes are entirely financed by Rockstar Games.
