Niantic has unveiled the exciting details for Pokémon GO Fest 2025, along with two additional events hitting this January. Let's dive into the upcoming festivities!
Pokémon GO Fest 2025: A Global Celebration
The Pokémon GO Fest 2025 extravaganza, spanning three days in three different cities, kicks off in June 2025. Here's the schedule:
- Osaka, Japan: May 29 - June 1
- Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6 - June 8
- Paris, France: June 13 - June 15
More details are promised in March, but expect the usual blend of exclusive items, unique gameplay, and exciting bonuses. Remember, event details are subject to change, so stay tuned for updates!
This annual event is a highlight for trainers worldwide, offering opportunities to catch rare Pokémon unavailable through regular gameplay. Past events have featured legendary Pokémon like Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Shiny Pokémon encounters will also be boosted, varying by location to reflect their natural habitats.
In-person attendees can look forward to exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed goodies, community hubs, and team lounges for connecting with fellow trainers. While specifics for 2025 are still under wraps, expect a similar level of excitement to previous years.
January Events: Fashion Week and Shadow Raid Day
Beyond the GO Fest announcement, Niantic revealed two more exciting events for January:

Fashion Week: Taken Over: January 15th (12:00 pm) - January 19th (8:00 pm) local time. Rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni! Shroodle and Grafaiai debut, hatching from 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokémon will appear, and keep an eye out for a fashionable Croagunk!

Shadow Raid Day (Ho-Oh): January 19th (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) local time. Challenge Five-Star Shadow Raids to capture Shadow Ho-Oh. A $5 ticket grants eight Raid Passes, increased Rare Candy XL chances, 2x Stardust, and 50% more XP from Raids. Shiny Ho-Oh will be more prevalent, and lucky catches can learn Sacred Fire with a Charged TM!
