As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the new year, the Eggs-pedition Access is available throughout January as part of the Dual Destiny season. For $4.99, this in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st, including increased Gift storage and daily limits.

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this time, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats – all with a boosted Shiny rate. Event bonuses include increased XP for Excellent Throws (2,025 XP) and celebratory fireworks.

Raids will feature a snowflake-capped Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), both with increased Shiny odds. Don't forget to check Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases for more themed Pokémon encounters.
