Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have moved the conversation beyond the console itself to the physical dimensions of its game cases, sparked by apparent retailer leaks.

According to Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a product listing for a Take-Two Interactive Nintendo Switch 2 title on French retailer Fnac that included case measurements. If accurate, Nintendo Switch 2 game packaging will be slightly larger than standard Switch cases.

A mockup created by Reddit user HertzBurst visually compares the two case sizes side-by-side. Based on the retailer information, the new cases measure 5.1 inches (13 cm) by 7.7 inches (19.5 cm).

This represents a modest size increase over the familiar Nintendo Switch cases while remaining significantly more compact than the standard packaging used for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 titles. Though unofficial, the dimensions make practical sense for retailers needing to plan shelf displays and inventory systems in advance.

The Nintendo Switch 2 appears to be nearing release, with industry speculation pointing to a launch window between June and September. This timeline aligns with hands-on demo events scheduled through June, combined with Nacon's (publisher of Greedfall 2) confirmation that the console will arrive before September.

Nintendo initially revealed the Switch 2 in January through a teaser trailer that confirmed backward compatibility and an additional USB-C port. Most technical specifications and game titles remain undisclosed, though discussions about the mysterious new Joy-Con button's function continue, including some support for the mouse theory circulating online.
