Nintendo Alarmo Japanese Release Postponed Despite Being Available Worldwide
Due to unexpectedly high demand, Nintendo has delayed the general release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially scheduled for February 2025, the launch is now postponed indefinitely.
Production Shortages Cause Delay
Nintendo Japan's website cites current production and inventory issues as the reason for the delay. The company is currently unable to meet the significant demand. At this time, it's unclear if this will impact the March 2025 general release date in other regions.
To address the shortage, Nintendo is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order period is slated to begin in mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. Specific pre-order dates will be announced soon.
The Alarmo: A Popular Nintendo Alarm Clock
The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring music from popular Nintendo franchises (Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, RingFit Adventure, and more), launched globally in October 2024. Its immediate popularity overwhelmed Nintendo, leading to the cessation of online orders and a lottery system. The alarm clock quickly sold out in physical stores in Japan and New York.
