The Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo – Wake Up in a Game World!
Free Game-Themed Alarm Sounds on the Way!
Priced at $99, the Alarmo uses game sounds to coax you out of bed. Nintendo promises a truly immersive wake-up experience, transporting you to your favorite game worlds with sounds from Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, and more. Best of all, free updates with additional alarm sounds are planned.The Alarmo's unique feature? It only shuts off when you're fully out of bed, rewarding your morning triumph with a "brief victory fanfare." Wave your hand to quiet the alarm, but prolonged slumber will only increase its intensity.
Setup is simple: choose a game, select a scene, set your alarm, and let the Alarmo's interactive magic work its charm. The device uses a radio wave sensor to detect movement without compromising privacy, working even in dark rooms or with obstacles. Nintendo developer Tetsuya Akama highlighted the sensor's ability to detect subtle movements without the need for video recording.
Early Access for Nintendo Switch Online Members!
For a limited time, US and Canadian Nintendo Switch Online members can snag the Alarmo through the My Nintendo Store before its general release. The Nintendo New York store will also offer in-person purchases while supplies last.
A Sneak Peek at the Future: The Switch Online Playtest
Applications Open October 10!
In other news, Nintendo is running a Switch Online playtest from October 10th (8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET) to October 15th (7:59 AM PT / 10:59 AM ET). Up to 10,000 participants will be selected, with international participants chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. The playtest itself will run from October 23rd to November 5th (6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET to 4:59 PM PT / 7:59 PM ET).
To participate, you must:
⚫︎ Have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership by October 9th, 3:00 PM PDT. ⚫︎ Be at least 18 years old by October 9th, 3:00 PM PDT. ⚫︎ Have a Nintendo Account registered in Japan, the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain.
