Official website data reveals surprising character popularity in Marvel Rivals. In "quick play," Jeff reigns supreme, outpacing Venom and Cloak & Dagger. However, competitive play paints a different picture. On PC, Luna Snow, Cloak & Dagger, and Mantis dominate, while console players favor Cloak & Dagger, Penny Parker, and Mantis.

A curious twist: Mantis, despite leading the popularity charts in competitive mode, also boasts the highest defeat rate. She's the top character on both PC and consoles, surpassing Hela, Loki, and Magic. Mantis's console success is further underscored by 14 other characters achieving over 50% win rates.

Conversely, the least popular characters stand out. "Quick play" sees Storm, Black Widow, and Wolverine lagging, while Nemore occupies that unfortunate position in competitive play.

Marvel Rivals is currently facing controversy after receiving over 500 mods in a single month. The removal of mods on Nexus Mods, which replaced Captain America's head with Donald Trump and Joe Biden's images, sparked considerable user backlash.

Nexus Mods' owner, TheDarkOne, addressed the situation in a private Reddit discussion. He explained that to avoid accusations of bias, both Trump and Biden-related mods were removed simultaneously. This action, he stated, was taken to maintain neutrality.

Curiously, YouTube gaming channels remain conspicuously silent on this matter.
