Marvel Rivals Season Content to Shrink
Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch Featuring the Fantastic Four
Marvel Rivals' Season 1, titled "Eternal Night Falls," is set to launch on January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasting double the content of a typical season. This expanded content release is a deliberate choice by the developers, driven by their desire to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group. The season, expected to span three months, will receive a major mid-season update.
This inaugural season will introduce three new maps based on iconic New York City locations: the Sanctum Sanctorum (launching with Season 1 and integral to the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (used for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed closer to the mid-season update).
The Fantastic Four's arrival is a key highlight. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debut on January 10th, classified as a Duelist and Strategist, respectively. The Thing and Human Torch are slated to join the roster in the mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
While the developers haven't specified how this oversized Season 1 will affect future content releases, the expectation remains that subsequent seasons will likely feature the addition of two new heroes or villains.
The absence of Blade in Season 1 has disappointed some fans, despite earlier speculation. However, the substantial content planned for Season 1, coupled with ongoing speculation surrounding the game's future, keeps anticipation high among players.
