Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown kicked off *Marvel Rivals* Season 1, launching right at the season's start. This map is tailored for the Convoy mode, where teams either escort or thwart a moving vehicle across the map. Midtown marks the third Convoy map in *Rivals*, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under the eerie glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown transforms New York City into a haunting battleground. Key Points of Interest include iconic *Marvel* locations and real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore’s Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
Joining *Marvel Rivals* in Season 1, the Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum is the sole map for the Doom Match mode. In this free-for-all deathmatch style, players compete to outlast and eliminate others, with wins awarded to the top half of the leaderboard and MVP honors going to the standout performer.
The Sanctum Santorum map beautifully recreates Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, which first appeared in a 1963 comic and is well-known in the *MCU*. Situated in New York City, it serves as a supernatural defense hub in *Marvel Rivals*. The map is packed with secrets, easter eggs, and supernatural features like impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Scheduled for release in the latter half of *Marvel Rivals* Season 1, the Central Park map remains somewhat mysterious. In real life, Central Park lies in Manhattan between the Upper West and Upper East Sides and has featured in various *Marvel* works, most recently in the 2023 *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* game.
In *Marvel Rivals*, Central Park will focus on a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, a Gothic architectural gem located at one of the park’s highest points. This setting perfectly complements the Empire of Eternal Night theme and hints at Dracula’s presence in New York City.
These are all the exciting new maps you can explore in *Marvel Rivals* Season 1, each bringing unique gameplay and a deeper dive into the Marvel Universe.
