Leaks Exciting Battlefield Fans, EA Yet to Respond

Despite requiring players to sign NDAs to keep details of EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps, leaks have surfaced online, featuring dozens of videos and screenshots. These leaks, originating from participants in the game's closed playtesting, showcase various aspects of the gameplay.

As previously reported, the leaked footage aligns with the modern setting that Vince Zampella hinted at, setting it apart from other entries in the Battlefield series. A browse through the Battlefield subreddit reveals numerous firefights, a glimpse into the game's destructible environments, and new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA has taken a relatively relaxed approach to these leaks. Typically, publishers are quick to issue takedowns of pre-release footage, which often includes incomplete animations, unfinished user interfaces, and subpar graphics. Yet, despite the breach of confidentiality agreements, EA has not pursued the removal of this content.

This leniency may be influenced by the positive reception from fans, contrasting with the lukewarm response to Battlefield 2042. Players have expressed enthusiasm about the new game, with one stating, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…", and another noting, "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me." Enthusiasm continues with comments like, "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!" and "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha."

EA is set to release its next Battlefield game within the fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. Following our first official unveiling just last month, it's confirmed that the new game will feature the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, much to the delight of fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
