If you're looking to deepen your bond or even romance her, understanding the art of gifting is essential. Here’s your ultimate guide to winning Juniper's heart with the perfect presents.
How to Romance a Character in Fields of Mistria
While *Fields of Mistria* allows you to befriend many of its residents, romance is reserved for a select few NPCs. With the v0.13.0 update, you can choose from 11 different NPCs, including the intriguing Caldarus, to be your romantic interest.
Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that grows based on your interactions with them. To kindle a romance with a specific NPC, regular interaction is key. Start by **talking to them daily** as you go about your tasks around town. Daily chats can significantly boost their affection towards you. Additionally, make sure to fulfill any requests they post on the town board. Completing these tasks will give you more chances to increase their heart gauge.
You can also **give them a gift once per day**, tailored to their personal tastes. These items can be gathered or crafted and vary from one character to another. On their birthday, ensure you give them an item they love for an extra boost to their heart gauge.
Currently, the heart gauge for NPCs can only reach **six hearts**. At this level, a cutscene will play, hinting at a budding romance, but it won't be fully realized yet. According to the game’s roadmap, future updates will include 8 and 10-heart events, as well as options for marriage and children, ensuring your romance in Mistria has room to flourish.

Juniper is one of the romanceable characters in *Fields of Mistria*. When she's not searching for mystical ingredients, you can find her at her bathhouse in the northeastern part of town. To romance Juniper, focus on visiting her, completing her town board requests, and giving her thoughtful gifts daily.
Juniper appreciates a variety of gifts, each categorized as "likes" or "loves." Remember, her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, so give her an item she "loves" on that day for a significant boost to her heart gauge.
Avoid giving Juniper items she dislikes, which include all universal dislikes and **Sod**. You can always check the status of her heart gauge in your journal under the heart icon tab.
