Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle

Following the Sacred Wounds puzzle and escape from the Vatican's underground, Indy uses the scroll from the Giant's tomb to locate his next objective: the Fountain of Confession. Remember to photograph all signs, statues, and murals for Adventure Points!

Navigate to the Fountain using your in-game map. You'll find a staircase in the courtyard leading to the puzzle's starting point.

First, retrieve the fountain key from the chest near the fountain's construction area. This unlocks the adjacent storage room.

Use your whip to rappel to the rooftop, then swing across to a window. You'll find two dragon statues. Swing to the second statue and grab its claw to activate a lever.

Rotate the statue to face the opposite dragon. Return to the first statue; its claw is missing!

Locate the missing claw on the scaffolding below. Rappelling down triggers a cutscene with Gina Lombardi, who assists you. Retrieve the claw.

Return to the statue, attach the claw, and rotate it to face its counterpart. The fountain statue will turn towards the wall. Rappel down.

Use your whip to pull the fountain statue. A gate, blocked by three statues, is revealed.

Activate the lever near the fountain. The first wall puzzle (a baptism scene) appears. Solve it by placing the male statue under the water bucket, activating the water mechanism, and pushing the statue to “baptize” the smaller statue.

Reactivate the lever for the second puzzle. Manipulate the stone path layers using the handles to move the angel to the right side of the wall.

Finally, push the remaining central statue through the gate to unlock the spiral stairway.
