Anime Skating Sim "ICE on the Edge" Launches

Melpot Studio has released the debut trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulator, ICE on the Edge, scheduled for a PC release on Steam in 2026. This innovative game aims to blend vibrant anime-style visuals with authentic, meticulously designed skating routines, developed in consultation with professional skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, players assume the role of a coach, guiding and developing an athlete's career. Key duties involve choreographing programs, selecting music, designing costumes, and strategizing technical elements. The objective is to train your skater to compete for the title at the prestigious fictional event, the 'On the Edge' Grand Prix. The game's movements have been crafted with guidance from acclaimed Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who also contributed to the anime series Yuri on Ice.
Notably, the development team embarked on this project with minimal prior figure skating knowledge but committed to an in-depth study of the sport. They immersed themselves in its details, from analyzing the mechanics of different jumps to mastering the scoring system, striving to create a genuine and engaging simulation.
By combining anime-inspired art with realistic skating physics, ICE on the Edge seeks to offer a compelling experience for both gamers and figure skating fans.
