James Bond audition tapes from 2005 have surfaced online, showcasing Henry Cavill's take on the iconic 007 character before he ultimately lost the role to Daniel Craig. According to Games Radar, these tapes were uploaded to the Ron South YouTube channel, which is run by an enthusiastic filmmaker with 1,890 subscribers. The channel also features audition tapes of other actors such as Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr.

Henry Cavill's audition has garnered significant attention over the years, with many fans and industry insiders believing he would have been an excellent James Bond. Notably, Casino Royale director Martin Campbell praised Cavill's performance, describing his audition as "tremendous." Campbell even admitted to favoring Cavill for the role, but the final decision went to Daniel Craig due to preferences from other key decision-makers.

Despite missing out on the Bond role, Cavill has had the opportunity to explore the spy genre in the film Argylle. In this movie, he starred alongside a talented cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O'Hara. Unfortunately, Argylle did not fare well with critics, receiving a disappointing 4/10 rating from IGN despite its impressive lineup of actors.

Cavill's career remains diverse and successful, with notable roles such as Superman in the DC Universe, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher series, and numerous other acclaimed performances.
